What is the right order?

Understand- listen- judge… trust…? no.. no.. no…

Trust..Judge.. understand.. listen…??? (Does not seem right?)

Wait, let me explain 🙂

We have all been brought up in the environment of respecting elders, which is imbibed in our culture.

Okay, agreed!

We shall respect not just elders but even our younger ones. Does that mean that you should not correct a fellow human being (elders nor younger ones) from doing mistakes which can lead them to lose relationships and career?

That is not called as giving respect.

Here comes different perspectives: [All that I have sadly witnessed and heard from my peers and mentees]

  1. If I respect my elders, I should not correct them when they make mistakes. (Good and bad is derived from their gyan in to our heads) Still, no.. you are not supposed to tell even with due respect that their deeds can hurt someone
  2. Using technology is a crime, just because they don’t use it (Why do u fiddle with your phone?? 24/7??). When you do not use a particular technology, how difficult it becomes to explain what I am doing (The user’s mind voice)
  3. When you make a valid statement (suggestion), which by chance sounds better than what the elders have told, you are a arrogant child!! What an atrocious behavior?!!

Today, the world’s youngest CEO is a 12 year old with the grit and knowledge to develop mobile applications and runs his own firm.

TWIST NUMBER 1:

The saddest part of this trend is, parents fail to build something fundamental in their lives, towards their children- THE TRUST

Putting their life and soul, sacrificing day and night, compromising their small and big wishes for the little soul they had brought to this Earth, ultimately comes one day, parents tend to become narrow minded and judgmental to assess that their child can be only THIS (whatever opinion is on mind). You see, that is very easy.

Parents take great effort in building a child’s character. The child is brought up in certain surroundings. We can only mold the child. But it is always easy to understand without being judgmental. Why are we complicating this gifted bond?

TWIST NUMBER 2:

Parent tends to emphasize their decisions on their children which again is to simply sacrifice their children’ dreams and ambitions. Be it career or relationship. Is it for this reason that so much effort was put in to nurture a young soul?

Solution??

It is simple 🙂

Avoid being judgmental. Life becomes easy. Then you tend to listen. Then build trust. Then you have the rights to understand someone. (Yes, in that order only! ) 🙂 Please do not bring Ego in to any relationship.

Listen to human beings- be it young or old. After all, each one is Unique! 😉

Now do not think how old I should be… That is what you were reading all this while that it is not a matter of fact 🙂
